Our Story


Built upon a shared passion for healthy eating, childhood friends Joe Chairmonte and Ryan Stern made it their goal to change the way people think about fast casual dining. As Ryan’s career playing professional hockey was winding down, Joe was growing tired of the traditional 9-5, working as a certified bridge inspector/senior CAD technician. Both had a great deal of knowledge to bring to the table as far as nutrition and restaurant experience. After a lot of thought, greenplate was established in 2014 and officially opened for business on April 27th, 2016.


Coming from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, it took quite a bit of time to find the perfect location that would allow Ryan and Joe to maintain local roots. After a short trip across the bridge, they stumbled upon the hidden gem that is Cinnaminson, New Jersey. Seeing that the town did not have many gluten-free, vegan, or scratch-made dining options, they decided that this would be the perfect setting to begin their journey.


Our mission at greenplate is to make every experience a positive one. Our user-friendly ordering systems allow for a completely customized dining experience. We offer several sauces and dressings to complete your stir-fry or salad, all made daily in our own kitchen from scratch. We also feature seasonal smoothies, soups, and house-made desserts. Our goal is to set a positive example in the way we source our produce—locally, and organically grown. We hope to inspire others to reconsider the norm of fast casual eating, while engaging and growing with the community we’ve come to know and love.
